No, I haven't dropped off the face of the Earth. An, um, mishap on the plane from ANC to ATL has left me without a working computer and posting from th iPhone (as I'm doing now) is too much of a pain inthe ass to do more than write a few sentences.

The remainder of my visit to AK was good. We did end up catching two more saw-whets (and something else, but I'll write an entry on that layer).

Started a new semester. Taking Vertebrate Zoology, Mammalian Physiology, Cell Biology, and a history class.

It always takes me a couple of weeks to recover from a trip to Homer to visit Jason. It's the one place where I feel unconditionally at home.

hugs. I wondered how the banding went - did you get any more boreals?

not ignoring you, been busy. I'm down in Jacksonville for the next couple of days, then driving back Friday (via the coast if I can make the time -- I'm looking for suitable merlin/peregrine trapping spots... merlin for me, peregrine for the falconry club guys)

You know, I had this huge long reply written out to you on the day you left this comment. But then it disappeared into th ether and I said "screw it".
No, we did not get any more boreals while I was there, but Jason has continued to open the nets since I was there (minus a week for a business trp and the days when the moose were hanging around the nets). So far, he's caught 20 NSWO and 3 BOOW. And something else. But I want to put up pics of that before I tell you what it is. I can't do that any time soon, because Im still relegated to the iPhone. I hope you are doing well!
